Louisa is just starting to make communicative sounds at will. You can see her focus her energy on getting the sound out. And, um, what a sound.
She does know about turn-taking in conversation, but she's got a thing or two to learn about relaxing her vocal chords.

Besides all of the questionable behavior documented below, we also did manage to have a little fun last weekend.
First, we went to Alara's birthday party. Balloons! Cake! Stickers! And...an indoor bouncy! A good time was had by all.

And we stopped at the toy store, just to see what Santa's working on this year.

It was a bit much for some of us.

But we recovered. Whew!

More introductions
Louisa is very calm as her brother learns to hold her properly

Meeting Auntie Eva

and Grandpa Larry

and Grandma again

Early October can be warm enough for smoothies

or cold enough for mittens

We went to the zoo (who's that monkey?)

Obama came to our neighborhood! We couldn't get close enough to hear him, but we saw him drive by

Louisa's got a range of expressions:
Bemused surprise

Angry incredulity

Wistful contemplation

"What's he going to do to me now?"

"I don't think so."

Devious plotting

and--I finally caught one!--the smile.
